2016 Holiday Movie Guide

The holidays are upon us and for those who enjoy the cinema of the season, there are numerous opportunities coming up in the month of December.  With a mix of modern and traditional Christmas classics, there is sure to be something returning to the big screen to help you and yours celebrate the holidays at the movies.

A Christmas Story

This modern holiday classic returns to the big screen on December 3 at 12:00 p.m. at Edwards Corona Crossings Stadium 18 & RPX (2650 Tuscany Street, Corona) and costs just $5. Rated PG.

Can’t make it on the 3rd?  The Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) will be showing the film as part of it’s Classic Christmas Cinema series at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December, 6.  Rated PG.

White Christmas (1954)

For just $5, fans of the 1954 classic White Christmas can catch the film on the big screen at Dos Lagos Luxury Theatres (2710 Lakeshore Drive, Corona) from December 2 – December 8.

Can’t make it to the theater?  The Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) will be showing the film as part of their Classic Christmas Cinema at 6:00 p.m. on December 14.  This film is not rated.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Your heart will grow three sizes on December 10 when Dos Lagos Luxury Theatre’s offers a free viewing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 10:00 a.m.

Christmas Vacation

National Lampoon’s holiday hit Christmas Vacation returns to the big screen at 12:00 p.m. on December 10 at Edwards Corona Crossings Stadium 18 & RPX (2650 Tuscany Street, Corona)  Celebrate the holidays with the Griswold family for just $5.

Can’t make it to the 12:00 p.m. showing?  The Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) will be showing the film on Tuesday, December 20 at 6:00 p.m. as part of their Classic Christmas Cinema. Rated PG-13.

Scrooged

Join the Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13 for a screening of this modern take on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.  Starring Bill Murray as a selfish, cynical T.V. executive haunted by three spirits who each have something to teach him on Christmas Eve. Rated PG-13.

It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)

Jimmy Stewart’s holiday classic returns to the big screen as part of the Dos Lagos Luxury Theatres’ (2710 Lakeshore Drive, Corona) Cinema Classics series from December 16-22.

Edwards Corona Crossings Stadium 18 & RPX (2650 Tuscany Street, Corona) will also be showing the film for $5 on Christmas Eve at noon and 7:00 p.m. This movie is not rated.

Home Alone

Celebrate the holidays with the mischievous hijinks of Kevin McCallister when Edwards Corona Crossings Stadium 18 & RPX (2650 Tuscany Street, Corona) brings the film that made Macaulay Culkin a star back to the big screen on December 17 at 12:00 p.m. Rated PG.

A Year Without Santa Claus

Join the Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) on Wednesday, December 21 at 6:00 p.m. for this animated holiday Christmas classic that tells the story of the year Santa Claus considered skipping his Christmas Eve run.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

A special 2:00 p.m., and final presentation in the Corona Public Library’s Classic Christmas Cinema series of The Muppet Christmas Carol.  Join Kermit the Frog and the rest of the Muppets in this family-fun telling of the Dickens classic.  Stick around after the movie for a special craft for the whole family!
