Former Corona Police Officer and Vietnam War Vet Receives Power Wheelchair From Local Nonprofit

Tim Mott, a former Corona police officer and Vietnam War veteran, received a new power wheelchair last week thanks to a donation from the Temecula nonprofit All From The Heart.

According to the Press-Enterprise Mott’s workers’ compensation from the City of Corona did not cover the cost of a power wheelchair, leaving him with a manual wheelchair as his only option.  most of the time he relied on his wife to help him, but the new power chair gave him a new sense of freedom.

“There are things that people take for granted like going to get the mail and stuff like that; I am stuck between the kitchen and the living room,” Mott told the Press-Enterprise. “Now I can maneuver through the house. … it’s amazing.”

Mott was one of 398 veterans to receive a power wheelchair from All From The Heart’s Wheels for Warriors program, which gifts refurbished power wheelchairs and scooters to veterans in need.
