Star Wars Day

The force will be strong this weekend as The Corona Public Library (650 S Main Street) hosts Star Wars Day on Saturday, September 16 from 10 AM – 1 PM.

This free, family friendly event will bring fun from a galaxy far far away to families here in Corona with activities including:

  • Light Saber demonstrations
  • Star Wars character meet and greets
  • Jedi training activities
  • Star Wars crafts
  • Cosplay costume contest

Light saber demonstrations will be held at 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM and will require tickets for viewing.  Tickets are free and will be available on a first come, first serve basis and can be picked up 30 minutes before the presentation.

For those who like to show off their Star Wars style, the Star Wars cosplay contest will be open to kids from babies through 12th grade.  Prizes will be awarded in age groups 0 – Pre-K, K – 3rd grade, 4th – 6th grade, 7th – 8th grade, and 9th – 12th grade.  Registration for the cosplay contest will be held from 10 AM – 11:15 AM.  The contest will begin at 11:30 AM.

In addition to meeting your favorite Star Wars characters and participating in Star Wars themed activities, attendees will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for Star Wars swag.
