Things To Do In Corona This Week 1/30/17-2/5/17

Can you believe the first month of 2017 is already behind us?  As we head into February many of you are already planning your Valentine’s Day.  If you’re still looking for ideas, be sure to check out our 2017 Corona Valentine’s Day Guide.  In the meantime here are all the things you can do this week to kick off the month of February!

Monday, January 30

LaRS on the Go! – Join the Library and Recreation Services for a remote storytime at the Auburndale Community Center (1045 Auburndale St, Corona) from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Origami Club – Visit the El Cerrito Public Library (7581 Rudell Rd, Corona) from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and learn how to fold origami with Ms. Becky.  All ages are welcome, children under 6 years old must have an adult helper.

ScratchJR Coding for Kids – Join the El Cerrito Public Library (7581 Rudell Rd, Corona) from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and learn about coding from ScratchJR and how to create your own stories and games.  This event is for kids ages 5-7 and no experience is necessary.  RSVP if your child does not have their own tablet to use.

Sons of Liberty Institute: The Making of America – Join Sons of Liberty Aleworks (1780 Town and Country Dr, Norco) for their second in a 12 part video lecture series called “The Making of America.”  The class is free and taps will be open.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a beer and learn about the settling of America.

Tuesday, January 31

Brick Building Club – For ages 6 and up, join the El Cerrito Public Library (7581 Rudell Rd, Corona) every Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and build your own LEGO creations.  Those interested must sign up for a session in person at the library ahead of time. Space is limited. No walk-ins.

Scratch Coding for Kids – Join the El Cerrito Public Library (7581 Rudell Rd, Corona) from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and learn about coding from Scratch and how to create your own stories and games. This event is for kids ages 8-16 and no experience is necessary. RSVP if your child does not have their own laptop to use.

Flaw @ M15 – Join hard rock/nu-metal band Flaw for this 18+ show at M15 (9022 Pulsar Ct, Corona).  Tickets are $10 in advance, or $12 day of the show.  Also performing: Whitney Peyton, Chrysalis.  Tickets can be purchased at the M15 box office, or through the event page on their website.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, February 1

Preschool Storytime – For children ages 3-5, the Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) offers stories, songs, and playtime with a craft in the High Desert Room from 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Toddler Time – Join the Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) as they host storytime for ages 18-36 months. You and your toddler will enjoy a morning of stories, songs and playtime from 10:20 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

Toddler Tales Storytime – Enjoy music, books and a craft for preschoolers from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the El Cerrito Public Library (7581 Rudell Rd, Corona)

Creative Souls Art Lounge – Creative Kids! Classes: Cupid – Join featured artist Stephanie as she teaches your kids how to paint cupid.  Class begins at 3:00 p.m. at Creative Souls Art Lounge (2780 Cabot Dr. Suite 5-155, Corona)  $25 per student.  You can register through their website.

Dos Lagos Luxury Theatres Cinema Classics: Grease

Join Dos Lagos Luxury Theatres (2710 Lakeshore Drive, Corona) for a special “Cinema Classics” screening of the 1978 musical comedy, Grease. This special screening is just $7 and will plays February 3-9.  Exact showtimes were not available at the time of publish.

Family Storytime – You and your child age 0-5 can enjoy a morning of fingerplays, songs, rhymes, and books for all ages.  End the morning with toddler free-play and preschool crafting.  Hosted by the Corona Public Library (650 S Main St, Corona) from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Grand Community Room.
